Overview
Fundraising at Troop 187 falls in to two catagories. First, we raise funds for general Troop operating costs by holding a pancake breakfast on the first Sunday of February and a spaghetti dinner on the 2nd Wednesday in April. Proceeds from these events go to the Troop to help offset the operating costs of the Troop. Without these funds the annual Troop dues would be much higher. The second category is funds for the individual Scouts. This is done through the sale of wreaths and Christmas decorations. The Scouts get ALL the profits from their sales efforts. The more they sell the more money they get. These funds can accumulate in the Scouts account from year to year if the Scout earns more money then he needs to spend in a year.
